WIDLIMS ep #20 – Nutrition in medical education with Nutritank

    November 15, 2020 /

In today's interview, I spoke to Ally Jaffee (she/her) and Dr Iain Broadley (he/him) who founded Nutritank, a well-known UK hub for making lifestyle medicine and nutrition incorporated in medical education. How (not) to Exercise During a Lockdown ~ article

    April 21, 2020 /

How do you exercise? Is your main focus how much you are “burning”? Do you feel as though food is something you must “earn”? For a long time, thoughts of a punitive nature would pop into my head during workouts, and I unfortunately know that I am not alone. I also know that is a sad way to live life.

    Mermaids

    December 28, 2019 /

I think about being a little girl Swimming I did always love the sea Getting lost in the blue, the blurred line between sky and water Swimming fast One stroke Two strokes, faster If I swim slower my hair drifts away from me, billows like seaweed as it catches up with my new rhythm I pretend being a mermaid Swim with my legs touching No gaps here No thigh gaps If I look at my body when standing in clear water It’s of an odd shape And its true contours do not matter Because water distorts everything And I take pleasure in it I take comfort in it I wish…

~ How to punch diet culture in the face this festive season ~

    December 22, 2019 /

Ngl I think that is a most catchy title. If it got your attention: hey! I hope you get something out of this post. Keep on reading for my best tips at the moment. Internalising such ideas is obviously not helpful for anyone vulnerable to developing or already struggling with disordered eating behaviours. Though diet culture is a year-round thing (lucky us!) I know festive season and the flurry of New Year’s resolutions which quickly follow after it, is an extra difficult time. Here follow some tips first of all for everyone…
